How it works

Specially formulated with cross-linked sodium hyaluronate (0.4%) so that your eye drops stay in place for longer where they are needed, and you can get on with life with fewer interruptions.

Sodium hyaluronate explained
It’s a type of moisturiser, known as a humectant, naturally found in the body. Humectants work by attracting moisture – you can think of them a bit like a super sponge! Sodium hyaluronate occurs naturally in our synovial fluid – it’s the thick liquid that lubricates your joints and keeps them moving smoothly – and in the eyes and skin. Sodium hyaluronate is used widely, including in the treatment of ulcers, wounds and in skincare and cosmetics.

Look for cross-linked
Some eye drops contain sodium hyaluronate, but this is not the same. Ocutears Alo+ is formulated with the cross-linked version. The “cross-linked” part means that the molecules are connected in a special way that makes it better at staying in place where it’s needed.

Ocutears Alo+ is also formulated with Aloe Vera (0.2%)antioxidant and anti-inflammatory to hydrate, and help reduce redness and swelling.

You’ll never find preservatives in any of the Ocutears® formulations. That’s important. Find out why you should opt for preservative-free eye drops in our FAQ.
